Schools are the heartbeat of their community. It is their role to serve the families in the area and provide children with an education that empowers them to achieve future success. The purpose of Whitelands Academy is no different.
Plans for the construction and design of our school have been centred around the needs of people living on the Kingsmere estate. The size of our school, with a capacity of 600 pupils, was agreed five years ago by the Department for Education to cater for the predicted places required by families on the estate.
In fact, everything about Whitelands Academy is designed to provide children in Kingsmere and the wider Bicester area with a secondary education to be proud of.
Dr Nick Capstick OBE, CEO of our sponsor, The White Horse Federation, said: “The Whitelands Academy will feature exceptional facilities that support a broad, balanced curriculum and provide the ideal setting for an outstanding education.”
With the needs of the community lying at the heart of everything about our school, we felt it was only right to give it a name that paid tribute to the local area.
Whitelands Academy is proudly named after the farm which used to be located on our school site.
We believe that our name will act as a constant reminder of the families we serve as our school opens its door and establishes itself as a pillar of the local community.
