Serving Families in Oxfordshire: Our Catchment Area

Over the next decade and more, the town of Bicester is set to be at the forefront of pioneering growth, as millions of pounds are invested in the area. This investment will be used to fund 10,000 new homes, 18,500 new jobs, new rail lines, town centre regeneration projects, and improved road routes.

As a result of these projects, the population of Bicester is set to increase from 30,000 to 50,000. The town’s growth will see areas such as the Kingsmere estate become more populated and the need for school places grow considerably.

Upon its launch in September 2020, Whitelands Academy will serve families on the Kingsmere estate and in the wider Bicester area. The larger number of children requiring a secondary school place, as a result of the population growth, will be accommodated by our school, which has capacity for 600 pupils.

In order to prioritise admissions and applications, a well-defined catchment area has been put in place. The Whitelands Academy catchment area is the KIngsmere development. Its boundary is defined by Oxford Road (A41), Vendee Drive (B4030), and Middleton Stoney Road.

While this is the defined catchment area for our school, children living outside this area can still be admitted to Whitelands Academy. That is why we steadfastly encourage any parent who wants their child to attend our state-of-the-art school, regardless of their location, to submit an application.

Whitelands Academy will be a school that serves the families in our area. As we continue to prepare for our opening in September 2020, we remain focused on establishing ourselves as a pillar of the local community.
