Whitelands Academy Learning & Education

Career Advice

At Whitelands Academy, we plan to give our students access to a careers advisor, who will manage and coordinate arrangements for effective careers education, information, and guidance.

Students at Whitelands Academy will receive:

  • A structured programme of careers education from years 7 to 11.
  • Careers interviews with a careers advisor from year 9 upwards.
  • A careers resource centre, which all students are encouraged to use.
  • Drop-in sessions for quick queries and help with research at break and lunch-times.

Work Experience

A rite of passage for students in year 10, work experience enables students to gain skills in a real-world work environment. As well as providing an opportunity for experience to be put on their CV, work experience placements help students to develop their professionalism, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving abilities. Students at Whitelands Academy will be given the opportunity to partake in work experience during year 10.
